1. Sudha Shivpuri popularly known as 'Baa' of the hit TV serial 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' has passed away in Mumbai today. She made her film debut with Basu Chatterjee's Swami in 1977 and went on to act in films like Insaaf Ka Tarazu, Hamari Bahu Alka, Sawan Ko Aane Do, Sun Meri Laila, Burning Train, Vidhaata . In 1990, Sudha's husband Om Shivpuri passed away, but she continued acting in Tv serials - Missing, Rishtey, Sarhadeinand Bandhan. Sudha has worked in popular serials like 'Sheeshe Ka Ghar,' 'Waqt Ka Dariya,' 'Daman,' 'Santoshi Ma,' 'Yeh Ghar,' 'Kasamh Se,' and 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.'Sudha who is now survived by a daughter and a son had also worked in 2003 Bollywood film 'Pinjar.'     

2. JICA (JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY) agreed to lend 1165 crore rupee for Odisha Transission System improvement project. JICA provides technical training for participants from the developing countries in a wide range of fields, including medical, industrial, and agricultural training.

3.The mid-year update of the UN World Economic Situation and Prospects ( WESP), released today, said India's economy is projected to grow by 7.6 per cent this year and 7.7 per cent in 2016, overtaking China.

4. RBI allowed Tap N Pay without PIN for transaction up to 2000 rupees.
